About Our Club

Pro-Karate Coventry was founded in 2016 with a simple goal: to create a fun, friendly, and supportive environment where people of all ages can enjoy karate and grow in confidence in and out of the dojo.

Since opening our doors, we’ve taught over 400 students and supported many students on their journey from complete beginners to black belt level. Pro-Karate Coventry offers traditional Wado-Ryu karate classes for ages 4 and above.

Wado-Ryu is a Japanese style of karate that focuses on movement, balance, and control. Our classes follow a clear and structured syllabus, allowing students to progress step-by-step through their belts with the opportunity to grade every THREE months. This structured approach helps our students stay motivated, track their progress, and build strong foundations as they develop their skills.

Training Pathways

Alongside our traditional classes, we also offer Sport Karate training, focusing on the Olympic-style of kumite (sparring). We provide clear progression pathways from complete beginners to national competitors.

Karate For All (Ages 4+)

Whether your child is a complete beginner or an aspiring black belt, our classes teach the fundamentals of Kata and Kumite in a fun, supportive, and family-friendly environment. We cater to all skill levels up to international standard.

Competition Classes

For students ready to take the next step, these classes focus on speed, timing, and tactics. We prepare kids for local and UK-wide tournaments, ensuring they only compete when they feel completely comfortable and ready.

International Pathway

Elite training regimens tailored for dedicated athletes who wish to progress further, with clear pathways for those working towards representing their country on the world stage.

Kick off the week with our grassroots and beginner classes designed to build confidence and cover the fundamentals.

Tuesday Classes

5:00pm - Beginners 7:00pm - Competition 8:00pm - Elite Kumite

A full evening of progression, ranging from new starters early in the evening to our Elite Squad training at 8:00pm.

Final sessions of the week to refine technique and prepare the squad for upcoming tournament weekends.

Elite Sport Karate

We are proud to be the only club in Coventry and Warwickshire offering World Karate Federation accredited coaching. Our association "Pro-Karate Academy" is affiliated with the National Governing Body and British Karate Federation, which is a member of the World Karate Federation (WKF), the international governing body for karate worldwide.

School Programs

Pro-Karate Coventry also delivers karate sessions in primary schools across Coventry and Warwickshire, offering both breakfast and after-school clubs in six partnered schools.

Our classes combine fun, structured karate training with a focus on improving fitness, building confidence, and developing concentration and discipline. Students also have the opportunity to progress through our grading system and earn new belts.
