Our Team
Pro Karate Coventry is a family-run club which has been successful since 2016. Originally founded as Kaisho Karate, we are deeply proud to bring a fun, friendly, and highly supportive environment to your training.
We cater to everyone—whether a child has never stepped on a mat before, or they are an aspiring National and World Karate Federation (WKF) ranked fighter. Our core goal is to help every single student become the best version of themselves.
For some, that simply means having the courage to step onto the mat for the very first time. For others, it's about learning self-defence and building lifelong confidence, or even standing on the podium to win medals on the world stage (just like our very own instructors, Niamh and Jory!).
Whether you want to train once a week for fitness and fun, or you're an elite athlete training every day to compete in international arenas like Dubai, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and the USA, you have a home in our squad.
Meet The Coaches
Jory Chather
Head Instructor
Jory founded the club in 2016 and has since dedicated himself to coaching karate full-time. As a former fully funded athlete on the England Team, he transitioned from competing to sharing his expertise, teaching students from beginner to elite level. Jory was also previously appointed as the Head England National Coach.
Niamh Cosgrove
Instructor
Niamh has represented the club since 12yrs old and competes for the England National Team. Her biggest achievement so far was becoming Junior European Champion in 2020. She graduated from university with a degree in Sport Science and Coaching, and has since become a full-time karate coach, sharing her passion with younger students.
Jane Hemmings
Director
Jane is the backbone of our club, keeping everything running smoothly. Her friendly nature and exceptional organisational skills mean she is the glue that holds our team together and keeps the club thriving. Any questions or help you need, Jane is here to help!
